Sandlot Softball was founded with one simple belief: every team deserves a professionally organized tournament where great competition, sportsmanship, and respect for the game come first.

We believe tournaments should be more than brackets and trophies. They should create memorable weekends where athletes compete against teams of similar ability, coaches enjoy a well-run event, families have a positive experience, and every player leaves excited to come back.

Through USSSA Fastpitch, we are building tournaments that emphasize fairness, communication, professionalism, and community while developing the next generation of softball officials through our Youth Umpire Academy.

To provide professionally organized USSSA fastpitch tournaments where competitive, fair, and memorable experiences are the standard while developing the next generation of softball officials throughout Northern California.

Meet the Tournament Director

Sandlot Softball is led by Thomas La Gabed, who brings more than three decades of experience in fastpitch softball as a coach, tournament director, athletic trainer, educator, and former collegiate coach.

Throughout his career, Thomas has organized tournaments for USSSA, USA Softball, and PGF while coaching athletes at the youth, high school, travel ball, and collegiate levels.

His vision is simple: provide outstanding tournaments, create opportunities for young officials, and leave the game stronger than he found it.
